Real tennis, the mother of all racket sports, has been defined as a combination of tennis, squash and a game of chess and is over 1500 years old.
Between 1500 and 1800 the total number of courts in The Netherlands, then called “kaatsbaan” exceeded the 150 mark – the possibly most important court stood within the perimeter walls of the Parliament buildings in The Hague! There is not a single court left.
